Tweaking SuSE 10.1

The free version of SuSE 10 was phenomenal, version 10.1 came up a little short in my opinion with the switch from YOU (Yast Online Update) to libzypp the ZEN updater. Well, I have installed the DVD version of 10.1 approximately 20 times now and sometimes ZEN works and sometimes it doesn’t. I liked YOU better, much better. SuSE 10.1 compared to Fedora is still much better. I have worked with Fedora and Red Hat extensively since 2001 and I must say that SuSE is a much better distribution (for my purposes and my opinion, no flames please). Read the rest of this entry »
