The 2006 Fall semester of Marshall University (MU) is about to start up again on August 21st. Coincidentally road construction begins on I-64 again in Barboursville, WV. What is even better is the placement of the merge lanes. The brains behind the operation last spring, concerning the bridges in Barboursville, the main two lanes merged into one, at the entrance of an onramp. Just remember the STOPPED traffic. Textbook prices are soaring into the hundreds of dollars, but in some courses this fall, students won’t pay a dime. The catch: Their textbooks will have ads for companies including FedEx Kinko’s and Pura Vida coffee. A small Minnesota start up is trying to shake up the status quo college textbook industry. This is sure to cause controversy.

A new survey by Salary.com and America Online found the average U.S. worker fritters away 1.86 hours per 8-hour workday — not including lunch and scheduled breaks.
